Inside the UI editor textboxes are another type of element that you can add onto the UI canvas. The purpose of the textbox element is as you have probably guessed to be able to add text onto the UI canvas and consequently your future website.

How do you add a textbox into the UI canvas?
Like with the basic layout elements like blocks and grids it is simple to add a textbox element onto the UI canvas, but unlike those basic elements textboxes have specific features that you can edit in the “text” section of the inspector panel once the element is selected.
- Make the switch to the UI editor
- Click on the Add elements button in the top left corner
- On the pop up hover over the “Basic” section to open another pop up
- On the new pop up you should see a “other” section with 3 elements
- Click on the “Text” element to add a textbox onto the UI canvas
- Double click on the textbox to open the editing state and be able to type in the text of your choosing. Then click away or press enter to exit the editing mode and save the text.
How do you edit textbox specific settings in the UI canvas?
Once you have added a textbox onto the UI canvas there are some specific text only settings you can edit. To view these you must click on the added textbox element and then proceed to scroll down to the last section on the right-side inspector panel. These option include:

- Font: Edit the type of font of the text. Select from a list of over 100 google fonts
- Weight: Edit the thickness of the applied font
- Color: Edit the color of the text
- Shadow: Add and edit shadow effects to the text
- Size: Edit the size of characters in the text
- Letter: Edit the amount of spacing in between letters
- Line: Edit the amount of spacing between rows of text
